CONGRATULATIONS to Pete Alvey the WINNER of the November Tucson Regional WSOP Buy In Tournament! Pete played his way through 22 tables on his way to the WIN! We had a memorable heads up battle with Pete and Ric McDonald trading the chip lead back and forth for the better part of an hour! We would like to thank Executive Inn & Suites of Tucson for hosting this special event! We would also like to thank all of our venues for hosting our games and all of our loyal players for continuing to support these venues! 
Pete won his choice of a WSOP Circuit Event Buy In and travel and lodging for 2 or a $1500 Buy In to a 2009 WSOP bracelet event! We would like to congratulate everyone that qualified and participated in this special event.

We are pleased to announce that Monsoons Grill located at Silverbell Rd & Wade has joined The Poker Pub of Tucson! Monsoons will host sessions EVERY TUESDAY at 6:30 & 8:30PM starting on December 16th!  Monsoons is a very nice restaurant and bar with a full menu and a GREAT SMOKING PATIO! There will be food and drink specials on poker nights! Come out to Monsoons Grill and play some "NO ENTRY FEE ~ NO LIMIT TEXAS HOLD'EM" with the owners, Jan, Steve and Ron and don't forget to "GO ALL IN!" We will be awarding DOUBLE POINTS for the first 4 weeks!

The WINNER of each session at Clicks Billiards on Thanksgiving will WIN a TROPHY & a TURKEY at the Turkey Shootout! We will be hosting special sessions at Clicks Billiards at 6 & 9PM on Thanksgiving. Bubba Rohrbough took his trip to beautiful Lake Tahoe November 9th - 13th. Bubba won the trip to Tahoe and a seat in a $550 buy in World Series of Poker Circuit Event at Harvey's in Lake Tahoe by playing "NO ENTRY FEE ~ NO LIMIT TEXAS HOLD'EM" with The Poker Pub of Tucson and WINNING the August 17th WSOP Buy In tournament at Executive Inn & Suites of Tucson!
Bubba represented the Old Pueblo well by finishing in the TOP 25 out of a field of 109 players in circuit event #7. Bubba took his friend Jason along for the ride as well. Bubba and Jason stayed at the Horizon Resort & Casino. Bubba's first time playing video poker was a successful one. He hit a ROYAL FLUSH for a $1000 payout!  He also played a lot of blackjack and had a great time! Bubba got $100 spending cash along with the trip and the seat in the circuit event!

We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our players, Madelyn Joyce Brown.
Madelyn was a player and loyal supporter of The Poker Pub of Tucson since 2005. She will be missed by many. We have included her obituary and information for funeral services below. Please make sure that you give your condolences to Renee and Debbie when you see them.

Madelyn Joyce Brown, 64, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on November 13, 2008.  Her adventurous life began June 4, 1944, in Watsonville, CA.  She moved to Arizona in 1983 to retire and enjoy life in the desert with her family.   She loved traveling, playing poker and entertaining, but most of all being with her family.  All who knew her were embraced by her compassion, generosity, and love.    She wore many hats throughout her life, but is best known in the business world as an outstanding Real Estate agent.  Madelyn loved to laugh and to make people laugh.  She enriched so many lives with her caretaking, always putting others before herself. Madelyn will be immensely missed by family, friends, and those who sat across from her on the poker table.  We love you, and we miss you so much.  Mom, you can see clearly now; the pain is gone.

She is preceded in death by husband, Al Brown, mother, Cruz Aguigam, and father Rudy Aguigam.  Madelyn is survived by daughters Debbie Lopez and Renee Lopez, son Robert Lopez, grandchildren Alyssa, Jazmyn and Brennon, brothers David Aguigam (Stephanie) and Jerry Aguigam (Pam); sister Stella Letheney; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 1:00pm at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, DODGE CHAPEL.

We are pleased to announce that the date has been set for the November Tucson Regional World Series of Poker/WSOP Circuit event buy in Tournament! This special event will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at Executive Inn & Suites of Tucson. Registration begins at 1:30PM. The Tournament starts at 4PM.

This tournament is for the TOP 280 WSOP Points leaders for October. To find out if you are qualified for this event click on WSOP points on the left side menu. The list has 500 players. It is the second list on the page "WSOP points leaders Last Month". The TOP 280 and ties are automatically qualified. The next 220 players are the alternate list. If you are on the alternate list, you must be registered no later than 30 minutes prior to the start time. We will close registration for the TOP 280 players 15 minutes prior to the start of the tournament. If you are not registered by then your seat will be given to an alternate. We have attached a list of all players with WSOP points for October. If your name is on the lis list and there are seats available at the start of the tournament, we will allow you to play as an alternate with a shorter starting stack.

Seating will be limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. If you are in the TOP 280 you can pre-register for this event by contacting us at tpptournament@yahoo.com (Make sure you check your WSOP points on the left side of this page, print the confirmation email and bring it with you to registration.) Registration will be closed as soon as we have 280 players signed in.
 
We are rewarding the TOP 50 WSOP point leaders with extra starting chips as follows: 1 - 10 = 1000 chips, 11 - 20 = 800 chips, 21 - 30 = 600 chips, 31 - 40 = 400 chips, 41 - 50 = 200 chips.

The WINNER of this special event will choose either a seat in a *WSOP circuit event and travel & lodging for two or a seat in a $1500 Buy In bracelet event at the 2009 World Series of Poker!

*The winner will be able to choose from one of the following events depending on availability: Harrah’s Rincon San Diego or Caesars Palace Las Vegas. The buy in for the circuit event will be between $340 and $550. The winners of the circuit events may qualify to receive a seat in the circuit main event which usually has a buy in of $5000. Travel will include round trip airfare & lodging for 2 for 3 days & 2 nights. Payouts at WSOP circuit events vary depending on the number of entries. Some restrictions apply.

Fox & Hound now hosts sessions EVERY SUNDAY at 8PM and EVERY THURSDAY at 7PM! Come out to Fox & Hound and try some of the great food, enjoy your favorite beverages and don't forget to "GO ALL IN!"
